May has been a fairly quiet month for our duo, with lots of special family occasions and performances with our community band filling up the weekends. We managed to get to West Park, Aldwick, early in the month for a birthday weekend busk and mandatory piece of cake, as well as returning to the Cottesmore Hotel and Golf club for a wedding of a remarkable lady in her 80s! Between these times, we have still been busy practicing and learning new tunes during the week to enhance our set though. This month, we have added Greatest Day by Take That - the perfect anthem for weddings and another cheeky calypso tune called 'Hungry Woman' by Duke & the Jamaica 5. We will try and add a sample of each to our media library soon!
Looking ahead, the summer season is soon set to be in full swing. Between private bookings and events with our community band, we have a jam-packed Jubilee bank holiday weekend, which we are greatly looking forward to. We've even managed to learn the national anthem by special request to mark the occasion! There are lots more songs on our list to learn too, but we're always open to suggestions, so if you have any ideas, please do let us know!
Here is a photo from our latest wedding performance at Cottesmore Hotel and Golf Club, which is also where we performed for the NHS & Carers wedding competition that took place last year, so it was lovely to return!
